Eventually, Everything
Every trace we leave behind is accompanied by a quiet loneliness. I have always been intrigued by the idea of what it is that truly connects us all. Through exploring the relationship of our fragile human life I noticed the echo we create from the world around us. Over a ten week period I shot on film capturing the world and people around me. At the beginning of this process I knew I wanted to create diptychs. As I began to shoot, I intentionally shot with an individual photo in mind, not collectively. I started to notice similarities in certain photos whether it be a certain feeling, a shape, or similar colors. Whether it was a subtle similarity or a more prominent one, each diptych responds to the idea of how to see ourselves in our surroundings. The quiet, and often unnoticed moments of our everyday life reveals the mirror that connects us to our surroundings as well as to each other. In recognising the ordinary we are able to notice that eventually, everything connects us to the fact that we all share our existence.
